104 The Road to Como 2009-07-13

Robin and Amy on the road to Lake Como

What a hot road. We were slammed by the sun on the way to Lake Como. This was probably the worse approach we have done so far, partially because it once again was on a road (We hate walking on 4WD roads), but also because it was just so hot. Poor, Robin had just flown in to Denver. Now she was carrying a heavy pack in sweltering heat to teh Lake at twelve thousand feet. It was hard on all of us including Jake. To make matters worse there was always the dust from the 4WDs.

To give us something to think about, we were going to have to walk down the road in two days. Believe it or not, we actually thought it was worse hiking down the road. Gads.

We know we have one more 4WD road coming up to South Colony Lake, but hopefully it will not be as bad.

Happy trails for eating the dirt of the trail or road.
