Earth Day 2011 Observations

A few thoughts on Nashville's Earth Day festivities...

  • The gathering seemed large to us. We are not fans of crowds. We went to the Park early and left in a couple of hours when the crowds began to form.
  • Food vendors lined the food alley; but they were mostly the same food vendors that attend any festival.
  • The transportation area seemed to have less vehicles than before. The ReCharge Car company was represented. They do electric conversions.
  • The outdoors grouping had various booths representing hiking groups, trails, natural areas, parks, and greenways.
  • The food and farming area was huge. Good news for Nashville, the local farming community is growing.
  • Solar energy and green building seemed to have more businesses represented.

It was good to see the green community is still growing in Nashville. We picked up a lot of information to browse at home and we are already looking forward to next year.

Easter Candy Fun

Sam Venable had a funny article in KnoxNews on the Easter candy, Peeps. The link to the Peeps research site is worth a visit.

Happy Easter.
